What's New?

Welcome back everyone.
I am pleased to report that all the new children seem to have settled well and we are receiving requests for new children constantly.
Work has started on the outdoor area and we are hoping that it will soon be completed. Even though the builders will endeavour to keep things safe, you will still need to take great care that your child doesn’t run around the back.
Just a quick note to up-date you all on the forthcoming events as we start the last 7 weeks before Christmas- sorry that dreaded word.

Christmas show and party
Our Christmas show has been arranged for Thursday 15th December and the party for Friday 16th December (the last day as we break up for Christmas).
Don’t worry if your child does not normally attend on either of these days as we can exchange one of your sessions prior to the event, alternatively there is an option to pay for the additional session. The Christmas show will be open to all, especially Grandparents and friends. A more explanatory letter will be circulated nearer the time.
Single Photos
Once again I have enlisted Derek on Wednesday 9th November to undertake individual photos –please refer to attached letter.
A visit from the crossing petrol person
We have arranged a visit from the lollipop lady on Wednesday 18th November for both morning and afternoon session to talk to the children about road safety. Don’t worry if your child does not normally attend on this day as you can accompany your child on either talk; please ask for exact timings, if this is the case.

During this week we will also be baking for our CHILDREN in NEED celebrations to sell on the Friday 18th November, when the children can dress-up in spots.

Tin Cans
Can I put out a plea out for small tins that will be suitable to bake our Christmas cakes in. Last year we used the Heinz baked bean/spaghetti tin or sweetcorn tins.

Contact numbers
Please take note that if you need to get in touch with us during nursery times you need to use the land line as the mobile phone has no reception in the hall.
Just as importantly; I need to be informed of changes as soon as possible, to existing children’s hours of care and equally any changes in contact details, i.e. if mobile numbers or addresses have changed.
Story Sacks
These have proved to be very popular. If you have not borrowed one yet they are usually displayed near the hall door as you come in- if not there please ask for them

Toddle Woddle
This year’s ‘Toddle Woddle was a fine day full of fun and laughter which we raised £180 for Barnardo’s and £55 for our funds. Thank you and well done to everyone who took part. I am sure we will be repeating the event again next summer. If anyone has a thought about a different venue or activity please let us now. We are always open to suggestions but as with most events it does take time to organise, especially something different.
To conclude, please can I ask for more snacks as our stocks are depleted due to our large numbers of children.  Snack time plays such an important part in our timetable and is an invaluable experience during the day, one which the children truly enjoy.
