What's New?
Focus on life cycle of butterflies and frogs
This half term we will be looking at the life cycles of butterflies and frogs. This will be generally about babies and their growth. Next half term we will be working on TRAVEL with the children. The main areas that will be covered are countries and languages.
Easter Raffle
The committee and staff would like to say a big thank you to all of you who supported the Easter Raffle. Through your kind generosity we have raised £162, which will go towards equipment for St Sebastian's.
Sainsbury's and Tesco Vouchers
We are still collecting Sainsbury's Active Kid and Tesco Computer Vouchers. These voucher schemes are a great benefit to St Sebastian's and we are able to get equipment for the children to use that we could not normally afford.
Group photograph
The annual St Sebastian's Group Photo has been booked for 17 June. Further information is to follow.
Outdoor Area
The Committee and I are still working with the Church to get final agreement on the outside area. The Church Committee has approved plans for the outside area and the kitchen refit and are in the process of finalising the quotes. When this work is done we can proceed with getting the work completed. We will keep you posted on the progress.
New computer
After a few of the children were disappointed when the computer disappeared due to it breaking (it was very old!), I am pleased to announce that Stockport have given us the grant money to purchase a new one. Hopefully the computer will be up and running in the next few weeks and we shall have some very happy children.
Promoting St Sebastian's
Some of the children will be leaving St Sebastian's at the end of this term, leaving places available for new children. We would like you to pass on a good word to anyone you may know who is interested or looking for a place for their child. We have posters available, and if anyone know a place where one can be displayed please let us know and we will pass one on to you. If there is any charge for displaying a poster, the committee will happily refund the money - please just ask for a receipt.
Committee Meeting
St Sebastian's is a parent run preschool. We need parents who would be happy to help out, mainly with ideas for raising funds for St Sebastian's. At present there are only a few active committee members, and we need more to help with the successful running of St Sebastian's and to meet OFSTED requirements. The Committee will met on WEDNESDAY 19 May, from 11.45am to 12.45pm. If you would like to come but are concerned about childcare during the meeting, there are usually toys for them to play with, and it is always a very relaxed meeting.
Social evening
The Committee will be arranging a social evening to celebrate the end of the school year. Details to follow at a later date.
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER!
MONDAY 3 MAY Bank Holiday Monday. St Sebastian's will be closed.
FRIDAY 16 JULY St Sebastian's will be closed as Mrs Harrison and I will be attending our Graduation Day. Many apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
